Development Process

10 Steps - 1 Great Website

  1. Free Consultation

    We discuss what you want out of your new site. We figure out the scope of the project and establish roles and responsibilities. You will need to designate a contact person to be in charge of all content, images, etc.

  2. Plan and Organize Content

    Deciding what you want to say is one of the most difficult steps in creating a website. All the pretty graphics and flashy animations won't help your clients appreciate who you are if you don't tell them in well-written content. It's all about the content! Once you've written your content, we work with you to set the order of importance of the materials and lay out a basic outline of the site.

  3. Mock Ups

    We take all of the written material you want featured on your site and create a "skeleton" of a website. Using only gray boxes, we show you where all of your content will fit on the site.

  4. Design - Stage 1

    After you approve the mock ups, we prepare an initial design in full color images (not interactive - yet!). We make the design available on your Client page, and you give us feedback to let us know if we're heading in the right direction.

  5. Design - Stage 2

    Any big changes in design will be made at this stage, after getting your feedback from Stage 1. We will then place the completed design on your Client page for your approval.

  6. Client Approval

    Other than writing your initial content, this is the hardest thing you'll have to do. Log in to your Client page, look it over, and approve the final design.

  7. Coding the Site

    The design is finalized and we can start hand coding the interactive site in standards compliant XHTML and CSS.

  8. Complete Site

    Your turn again. Make sure everything is the way you want it. Small tweaks can be made here to the final design.

  9. Testing

    We test the site in all major browsers and on all major platforms (PC, Mac, Linux) to make sure the site will work for everyone who visits.

  10. Launch

    Once we finish testing we go live. The site will be up and you can start showing it off. This isn't the end for Pixelsplendor, though. We make sure your site is running great and fix any problems for the first 60 days after launch.
